Can Reese Strait-Line Weight Distribution Fit with C Channel Trailer Frame
Question:
The trailer I have is TMT and is constructed with C channel instead of rec tubing. Will load leveling hitch work on my trailer?

Helpful Expert Reply:
While the Strait-Line Weight Distribution w/ Sway Control - No Shank # RP66074 is a great option, since your trailer has a C channel we will need to find you a different system as the Strait-Line is designed to clamp down on both sides of the trailer frame.
For your application I recommend going with the Equal-i-zer System # EQ37121ET instead. This has the same weight capacity as the Strait-Line system but it uses brackets that fit around your C channel and then you can place some wood like a 2x4 to help fill up the gap of the channel. If you don't already have a shank then the kit # EQ37120ET would be a better option as it comes with a shank. It is worth noting that with this system you need a 1-7/8" thin-walled socket, like part # EQ70-00-4800, to install the hitch ball.
