Why Are Several Different Drop Length Weight Distribution Shanks Available

What is the reason for using shanks of different lengths?

Expert Reply:
Not every truck and trailer application will have the same rise/drop needed since vehicles are made at a wide variety of heights as well as trailers. So we offer shanks like the # 17120 which can offer more drop as needed depending on the situation. This one specifically can offer up to 5-3/4 inches of drop.
