The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs like part # SSR-209-40 can be in contact with the jounce spring contact point without a load present. Depending on which kit you have, there is sometimes a spacer that will allow you to have either a slight gap or the spring will be in contact with the contact point. The presence of a gap or lack thereof is usually explained in the instructions for your exact kit.
