Does Heat Shield of Volkswagen Passat Get Remoted to install Curt Hitch
Question:
Had this hitch installed on my 2014 Passat. The shop removed a large heat sheied from under the vehicle and claimed it was not required? Should the heat shield have been reinstalled before the hitch was ?

The install of the Curt hitch part # C11232 you have for your 2014 Volkswagen Passat does not require the removal of any heat shields. It actually installs on top of a portion of one.
I attached a link to the install instructions for you to check out and you can see that the heat shield does not come off.
