Troubleshooting Brake Controller of 2014 Dodge Ram that Doesnt Work with Hydrastar Actuator
Question:
I am not getting a trailer connection with my 2014 Dodge Ram truck. My current trailer has Hydrastar electric over hydraulic breaking system. Works with the 2015 ram but not my 2014. It’s a 2018 trailer with HydraStar.

Not all brake controllers are compatible with electric over hydraulic actuators like the HydraStar # HBA16 that you have. We've found that factory integrated controllers like what you might have on your 2014 Dodge Ram are really inconsistent with the EOH actuators as well. You could try the # HBA-CAM that you referenced and that most likely will fix the issue. Your best option though would be to replace your controller with one that is EOH compatible like the P3 part # 90195.
