To determine if the Carpod Walled Cargo Carrier, # M2200, will fit on your 1998 Chevrolet Suburban we will need to know one measurement. This cargo carrier measures 4 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the of the carrier.
On your vehicle, you will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole on your trailer hitch to the furthest rearward point on your bumper. If this distance is less than 4 inches, then you can use this carrier.
If you have more than 4 inches between the hitch pin hole and your bumper, then you may be interested in the Carpod Walled, Folding Cargo Carrier, # M2205. This carrier offers 13 inches of clearance and has a folding feature that allows you to tilt the carrier up when not in use.
I have attached review videos of both carriers for you to check out.
