Can a Wireless Brake Controller Work in a 2020 Chevy Express Van

Question:

My 2020 Express has the 7blade already. NOw I need a brake controller to tow my trailer but I don't want to install anything in it. I've seen some of the wireless controllers but I've never used one. Are they any good and can I use one in my van?

Wireless brake controllers have been around for a bit but they haven't become all that popular until pretty recently. They're a lot easier to install and transfer from one vehicle to another. There's nothing added inside the vehicle and when you don't need it it's not in the way.

Probably the most popular right now is the Curt Echo, part # C51180. It plugs into the 7-way on the back of your van inline with the trailer wiring and connects to your phone via Bluetooth to control the settings. Other than downloading the app and setting it up on your phone there's nothing to install and can't be easier.

The Echo also works with any vehicle that has a 7-way with a functioning 12 volt power circuit which you'll definitely have on your van's factory connector.
