Could Curt Echo Mobile Brake Controller Draw Power Needed from Trailer Battery
Question:
To install the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180, using the # 37185 as the adapter, I assume that if my trailer has a battery it can power the Echo when I plug the trailer into the Echo without having to run the 10 gauge wire to the car battery?

This is a really good question, but the Curt Echo # C51180 actually needs to be connected to the vehicle side battery to power and will not draw power from the trailer battery. It's designed this way because the vehicle battery is kept topped off by the alternator whereas the trailer battery would eventually get drained and leave you without trailer brakes.
Instead of using the # 37185 though I recommend using the # ETBC7L which basically comes with the same adapter as the # 37185 plus the wiring needed to run to the battery and complete all circuits needed to use the Echo.
