Easy to Install Brake Controller Recommendation for 2020 BMW X7

Question:

Thank you for the response. I had considered the solution you recommended above prior to purchasing the Curt Spectrum from you folks. The most important reason I declined the above solution was unexpected or sudden trailer sway. If you tow long enough, it happens. With manual tap of the controller brakes it is a non-event. Fumbling to push the brake button on my cell phone sounded less than safe at least half a dozen reasons right off the top of my head, and very likely could be an event. Otherwise, a seemingly elegant solution.

The 3066-P only fits Mercedes vehicles. I am not sure why that website listed it as a fit for a BMW but that is incorrect. Sounds like you have a factory 7-way though which we have a very easy brake controller solution for with the Curt Echo Mobile part # C51180 which basically fits any vehicle with an active 7-way and once synced to a smart phone is ready to tow. There'd be nothing to mount on your vehicle's dash either. Check out the review video I attached for more info as well.

That's a very valid concern, but we have the Rear View Safety Suction Cup Mount # RVS-CEL-M1 you could use to mount your phone on your windshield to give you the easy access you need to apply the manual override.
