Installation of Yakima HoldUp Wheel Holder Assembly
Question:
Here are 2 photos of my dilemma. It seems that I will need to drill a hole in the new part to fit it into the old rack. Is that right? I dont remember reading or being advised about needing to do that. Thank you.

I reached out to Yakima and actually sent them your picture because it didn't look right to me. Turns out I was correct; your old wheel holder has an extra hole that they believe was drilled at some point but wasn't there when it was manufactured. It looks like someone drilled a new hole in order to position the tray differently than designed.
Yakima definitely recommends using the pre-drilled holes in your new tray, part # Y90197, and not drilling your own as you asked.
