Replacing a Lippert 1621 Pin Box with a MoRryde RPB72-1621SHD-TA-06

Question:

Hello, I have a lippert 1621 SHD rotoflex pin box on my 5th wheel Item # LC328329 on e-trailer. Its a 21,000 lbs capacity. I want to reinforce my 5th wheel pin box framing and upgrade to a higher capacity pin box, namely the MoRryde RPB72-1621SHD-TA-06 24,000 lbs capacity. The only difference that I can see between the two pin boxes is the capacity and that the morryde has a king pin to bolt distance that is 2 inches longer than the lippert 1620 rotoflex. Would the 2 inches longer king pin to bolt difference be a problem at all?

To answer your question, the 2 inch difference is not a problem as you are going to be towing your trailer 2 inches further away from the cab of your pickup with the MoRryde pin box as opposed to the Lippert. So you are actually gaining 2 additional inches for turning clearance.

Before you make the switch I advise to double check your truck, hitch, and trailer towing capacity as you want to abide by the lowest weight in order to not void any warranties. Even though your new pin box would be able to handle 24,000 pounds, if your truck, hitch, or trailer is not rated for that much than the higher capacity does not serve much purpose.
