For the 1992 Ford F150, I would recommend using the Reese Universal Fifth Wheel Install Kit, part # RP30035, that you have referenced.

According to the installation instructions that I will link you to, the distance from the back of the rear bed rail to the back edge of the bed (not the tailgate) is 32-1/2 inches for both the short and long bed F150 models. Once the rear rail is placed, the legs of your fifth wheel hitch are used to provide the correct spacing for the front rail. The instructions that are specific to your truck are on page 11. The hitch would install so that the king pin is approximately 4 inches forward of the rear axle centerline, as shown in the diagram I provided.

You will want to choose a fifth wheel hitch whose capacity exceeds the fully loaded and ready to tow weight of your fifth wheel. If your truck bed less than 8 feet in length, you will need to use a sliding hitch. Although they are a few dollars more, I can highly recommend a round tube slider over the square tube models. Round tubes are far less likely to bind up.

I will link you to our recommended fifth wheel hitches for your 1992 F150.
