Compatibility of Curt Q16 Fifth Wheel Hitch w/ Reese Sidewinder Rotating Pin Box
Question:
I came across an answer to a question I have had for some time, at least I think its the answer. We have a 2016 Laredo super lite fifth wheel which I tow with a 2016 F250 6.2l gas engine, the combo seems to be working fine. The problem I have is, I noticed when I would stop for fuel or what ever I would do a walk around and noticed the pin box wasnt always lined up straight to the hitch, I had assumed the wedge had somehow moved, so when I got to my destination I would reset the wedge. It didnt help, I ask several people in the industry about this, they basically told me some movement was normal. Now I see on your site that the two are not compatible, the hitch and pin box. Other than buying a new hitch head is there another solution I could try Thank You for any help

Unfortunately, the Curt Q series fifth wheel hitches aren't compatible with rotating pin boxes like the Sidewinder because the unique axial-bearing pivot used in the Q series won't provide enough stability, as you've found.
The good news is that your existing legs would be compatible with the replacement A16 fifth wheel hitch head, part # C16520 so at least you'd be spared the entire expense of a new hitch. I'm not sure which wedge you're currently using, but Curt recommends using # C16992.
