The yellow wire on the Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector, part # 30717 can be used as an auxiliary wire. Some people will use it to light the reverse lights on their trailer, as a reverse lockout circuit or maybe to power a break-away kit. If you do not have a need for the additional source, the wire can be grounded with your ground wire.
