Best Suspension Support Option for Towing with a Lifted 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with MagneRide
Question:
Hello, I have a 2018 Sierra 1500 Denali with a 6 inch BDS lift kit. My current bump stops have a 3 inch spacer provided by BDS. Will the sumo springs work with the BDS spacers that were supplied for my stock bump stops? I was told air bags or air lifts are not available for the Denali MagneRide and I’m looking for something that will help or prevent sag when I tow. I plan on towing a 27 ft travel trailer weighing 7000 pounds with a weight distribution hitch. Thank you

The best option I have for a 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 Denali with MagneRide and aftermarket lift installed is the RoadActive Suspension (RAS) Custom Leaf Spring Enhancement Kit part # RAS2611. The RAS Kit is actually designed specially for Denali models with MagneRide and it installs on top of the leaf springs therefore unaffected by the lift so you know you won't have any issues with compatibility. The RAS Kit will do a far better job of helping to reduce sag while towing than a set of upgraded jounce stops would such as the SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs. This is because you can set the RAS Kit to engage right away whereas you would still be sagging a few inches before the SumoSprings were even put to use. Furthermore, you can adjust the tension on the RAS Kit for more or less support which cannot be said for the SumoSprings.
I do like the SumoSprings but they wouldn't be right for your application. It may be possible to modify them to work with the aftermarket jounce spring spacers but I cannot confirm this sadly.
