Difference Between Adarac Custom and Pro Ladder Racks on 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500

Question:

Hi, I have run across two different ADARAC truck bed racks on your site the Item # A70450, and the Item # A4000963. They are both able to fit my 2015 Chevy Silverado however they seem to have a different design. If you could give any info on the differences between the two that would be super helpful!

The Adarac Custom Truck Bed Ladder Rack # A70450 that you referenced is actually only a fit for certain model years of the Ram 1500 and won't work on your 2015 Chevy Silverado 1500. The equivalent model for your Silverado is the Adarac # A90190.

There are a few differences between the Adarac Custom # A90190 and the Adarac Pro Ladder Rack # A4000963 for your truck. The first is that the Custom model features uprights that lean in towards the middle of the truck as they extend up to the crossbars. This allows them to better match the shape of your truck for a more aesthetically pleasing setup, but it may create issues when trying to fold up a tonneau cover. The uprights on the Pro model rack extend vertically to the crossbars, which allows a folding cover to open up without any interference.

Another difference comes in the actual construction of the two racks. The Custom model does feature aluminum crossbars, but the uprights and rails are made up of powder coated steel. The Pro model features an aluminum construction throughout, which just offers superior rust resistance over time.

Lastly, the crossbars themselves are also a bit shorter on the Custom rack with a 62" length compared to the 72" bars on the Pro model. With all this in mind I do think the Adarac Pro # A4000963 offers a pretty significant upgrade over the Custom system and is my specific recommendation.
