To see if the Yakima EXO Swing Away Hitch Cargo Carrier, part # Y62VR, will fit on your 2003 Jeep Liberty, first there are a few things you will need to check out on your hitch and your vehicle.

The # Y62VR cargo carrier, can only be used on Class III and Class IV 2 inch hitches. So you will want to check to make sure you have a Class III 2 inch hitch on your Jeep Liberty. If you look on your hitch and it says 3,500 lbs towing capacity and 350 lb. tongue weight capacity then it will be a Class III hitch. The Jeep Liberty will not use a Class IV hitch.

On your Jeep Liberty with spare tire on the back you will need to measure the distance from the center of your hitch pin hole to the farthest back part of your spare tire. This measurement will determine if the cargo carrier will clear your spare tire. This measurement will be the reason that the Yakima EXO Cargo Carrier # Y62VR will not work for you. If you measure from the center of your hitch pin hole 4-1/4 inches straight out and then strait up, you will know if the rack would hit your spare.

I have a similar carrier to suggest for you. I believe that the GearDeck 17 Enclosed Cargo Carrier for 2" Hitches - Slide Out - 17 cu ft - Black # H00604 will fit your Jeep. This is an enclosed carrier that measures 14 inches from the hitch pin hole to the closest edge of the box. While it doesn't swing away like the Yakima EXO # Y62VR, it does slide straight back 50 inches. This should give you access to the back of your Jeep.

I am sending a link to the instructions on these cargo carriers and a video links to a review them.
