Why Does This Come with 2 14 ga and 2 12 ga Connectors?
Question:
2014 Honda Pilot AWD EX, not that it directly matters to the question. As seen in the product image, and real life, this Tekonsha 3070-S brake controller wiring adaptor kit is supplied with 2 Blue 16-14 Ga and two Yellow 12-10 Ga barrel crimps. But all 4 wires in the kit are 14Ga in real life. So its puzzling that two of the crimp barrels are for a size of wire not even found in the kit they are supplied with. Ill have to go track down two more of the correct size to ensure a reliable connection or pull out my soldering iron and heat shrink tubing. Indeed, the wires coming from the Tekonsha Voyager 11/97, old enough to drink and vote and still functional Im hooking up with the kit appear to also be all 14 Ga. Clearly this is not your error it would appear to be Tekonshas.

They send out a common connector kit with it and you're correct they don't match up. The wires on that plug are all 14 ga. If you're having troubles finding the connectors you can use Butt Connector - PVC - for 16-14g Wire - Qty. 1 part # DW05714.
As an alternative you can simply use Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers - Honda part # 3070-P. This will plug in directly to your Pilot and brake controller eliminating the need for any connections to be made at all.
