Recommended Flat Towing Setup for 2006 Jeep Wrangler

Question:

So Im new to flat towing a car, but have a 24ft motor home and would like to tow my 2006 Jeep Wrangler. Would this be enough of a tow bar system or do I need something heavier? I only plan on driving to the beach and back. Maybe 2000 miles a year. Any help would be appreciated.

Although there are other more expensive tow bars that are easier to use, there's no reason why you couldn't use the # DM9511011-BX Demco Kwik-Tow Tow bar you'd looked at.

To complete your towing system, you'll need a few more items, such as base plates, safety cables, a wiring harness to operate the taillights on the Wrangler as its being towed, and a supplemental braking system.

For base plates, you'll need a Demco Classic Base Plate Kit, part # DM9517046 for the factory double tube bumper or # DM9518045 for the standard factory bumper. You won't need to worry about safety cables in this instance, as they're included with the tow bar. For wiring, the Roadmaster bulb and socket kit, part # RM-155 offers a simple to install yet functional solution. For a braking system, the Roadmaster # RM-8700 Invisibrake works very well, and you'll also need a # RM-88400 relay . You'll want to use a ball mount that places the tow bar within 3 inches of level.

I've linked you to an installation video for the bulb and socket taillight kit and the Invisibrake.
