Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver vs. Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver for 2020 Ford Explorer

Question:

I have a 2020 Ford Explorer and am looking to put on the curt or draw-tite hitch but I can't figure out exactly which one. I cant really tell a difference and feel like I'm maybe missing something? Is there a difference or one you would go with?

You have not missed anything in regards to the differences between the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch Receiver # 76320 and Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # CU78FR that fit your 2020 Ford Explorer because they are very similar with only slight differences.

The installation is essentially the same for each hitch, and each has a 6,000 lb towing capacity, which exceeds the maximum 5,600 lb capacity that some models of Explorer have (be sure to verify your capacity in your owners manual).

That said, if this were my 2020 Ford Explorer I would definitely install - and recommend for you - the Draw-Tite # 76320. The hitch has a 900 lb tongue weight capacity, which is far more than the 600 lb tongue weight capacity of the Curt hitch, and that gives you a much larger margin of error for not only towing, but also if you need to use your hitch to carry heavy accessories. I also really like the Draw-Tite brand and have found them to be the highest quality and reliable hitches. The accompanying photos are of the Draw-Tite hitch installed on a 2020 Ford Explorer so you can see how it will look when its on your vehicle.

To complete your towing set-up if you need a trailer wiring harness the correct fit for a 2020 Ford Explorer is the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118599.

I have added links to the instructions of these parts for you to check out as well.
