The Adapter 4 Pole to 7 Pole Vehicle End Trailer Connector part # 30717 can be used to adapt the 4-pin connector on your vehicle o the 7-way on the trailer side. You simply ground the 7-way plug and plug the 4-pin into the pigtail from the plug.
If your trailer has reverse lights or the surge brake actuator has an electric reverse lockout you will need to wire the yellow wire from the plug to the reverse light circuit behind one of the taillights. The black wire of the adapter is 12V power and can be attached to vehicle's battery via a 40 amp circuit breaker part # PK54540 if you want to trickle charge a trailer battery.
