SumoSprings Vehicle Suspension for 2016 Chevy Express Conversion Van Towing 5000 lb Boat
Question:
My 2016 Chevrolet Express 2500 Conversion VAN feels like you are on a roller coaster ride even when we have our 5000 pounds Yamaha 240 boat/trailer on the back. It is less bumpy but still bumpy. My question is should I go with SSR-205-47 or SSR-205-54

In this application, the springs will be handling the downward force or tongue weight applied to the trailer hitch from the trailer. Since a trailer's tongue weight usually runs 10-15% of the trailer weight, at most that trailer is applying 750 lbs of weight to that rear axle, in addition to the weight of folks and gear in the back of the conversion van. The # SSR-205-54 have a 2800 lb capacity and the # SSR-205-47 has a 1500 lb capacity. The correct option will depend on the total weight of cargo and people in the back of the van, but likely the lesser rated # SSR-205-47 would work just fine for you.
