Availability of Vertical Mounted Vent Fan
Question:
The measurements for the flange to be installed on sheet metal that replaces rear door glass are perfect. 14” X 14” opening and flange 16 1/2” X 16 1/2”. Can I install vertically without fear of leakage?

The rain shield used by the MaxFan # MA00-07500K Deluxe Roof Vent Fan does an excellent job of excluding water when installed in its typical horizontal orientation, but simply stated the fan wasn't designed to be installed horizontally. The vent would admit water into the interior of the vehicle. In addition to that, the varied turbulence that would be experienced at the rear of the vehicle rather than straight line winds it would see mounted to the roof would likely tear the vent fan unit apart.
We don't offer anything that's powered that would be suitable, but we doe have a passive type vent, part # HMAV2-AVT2 for black or # WHMAV2-WAVT2 for white that's designed to be mounted vertically.
