Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2016 Toyota Tundra Towing Dump Trailer

Question:

Hello, I own a 2016 Toyota Tundra 4x4 Crewmax Platinum. I tow a 10,000 lb capacity dump trailer almost daily, with varying weights in it. I’m looking for something to protect my factory suspension as well as improve the rear ride height when I have the loaded trailer attached. I’m not looking to spend $12-1400 dollars to add an air bag system with on board compressor so that said I am looking at either adding Timbrens or Sumosprings for the rear only. Both are similar in price so I’m more concerned about maintaining ride quality while both under load and not. Which would you suggest for my needs? Thanks so much in advance, your expertise is truly appreciated!

Since you want support, ride quality, and would prefer an economical price the SumoSprings Solo kit part # SSR-610-54 would be exactly what you want for your 2016 Toyota Tundra. This is the best blend of the things you are wanting and will do a great job overall!

I attached an install video for more info as well.

The problem with using SumoSprings on a lifted truck is that they don't offer spacers to fill up any gap created by the lift - so if it's a true suspension lift they just aren't the best option. For a jounce-style spring setup I recommend going with the Timbren # TTORTUN4 instead. You can then add spacers like the 1" # A25723-90AH00 to take up space made by the lift.
