Will the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller Work On a 2019 Ram 1500

Question:

I need to know if my 2019 ram is plug and play? I was told at the factory I bought trailer from that aftermarket trailer brake setups are hit or miss on the new rams. If so what do I need to install p3 into my truck and where does it plug into?

I have not personally heard of any issues installing an aftermarket brake controller on a 2019 Ram 1500 and we have sold many. There is a pre-wired port in the center dash behind a spare panel (see photo) which you can use to plug a brake controller in of your choosing. The Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller part # 90195 that you referenced is an excellent option and you can use the Tekonsha Plug-In Wiring Adapter for Electric Brake Controllers part # 3024-P for a plug and play install but that is all that is needed.
