Recommended 2 Inch Trailer Hitch for 5th Wheel Trailer To Use With Bike Rack

Question:

Hello, I have a 5th wheel and want to install a 2 inch hitch on the back of my trailer to attach a bicycle rack. The distance between my rear bumper supports is 65 inches inner to inner and the distance from the bumper to the trailer is 9 inches. There is a place for two screws in the top and 4 screws on the side. Can you please guide me to the right hitch for the job? No real towing but it will have about 300-400 lbs on it between the bike rack and the 6 bicycles Let me know if you need additional information. I can send some photos, I dont have any real good ones right now, but I can take some. Thank you so much!

The trailer hitch that I recommend for a fifth wheel trailer is the Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs part # C13704 which is hands down one of the most popular options for trailers due to its extremely universal design. The Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver has a 500 lb tongue weight capacity which should be enough for your bike rack and six bikes. The Adjustable Width Trailer Hitch Receiver for RVs bolts to the bottom of the trailer frame or possibly the bottom of the bumper support brackets.

Please note, trailer hitches for trailers are much different than that for passenger vehicles in that pre-existing holes simply just aren't present which is why universal options such as the above are used. I am not sure which holes you are referencing but they are most likely not for a trailer hitch. Therefore, you need to make new holes in the bottom of the frame/bumper brackets or weld.
