Fold Away Ladder Rack And Tonneau Cover For 2006 Toyota Tundra

Question:

my name is Kevin, I own a 2006 Toyota Tundra 4x4 double cab SR5. I love this truck! I do some work using my skills as a master craftsmen which has me at different times hauling material too long to fit into the bed. I have not been successful in locating a fold away ladder rack that will work with a tonneau cover. I cannot be the only customer that would need both of these items. I dont want this truck to always look like a work truck and I certainly need the weather and security of a cover for my possessions. Please help me locate a Fold Away ladder Rack and tonneau cover that work together or reach out to those manufactures and they just might say holy crap what a great ideal inch ! thank you ...... p.s. if they do decide to produce this have them name it after me... THE KARMAN FOLD UP LADDER RACK TONNEAU COVER KIT.......LOL in black of course

Ladder racks can be compatible with tonneau covers so long as the two items do not use the same mounting point. The Invis-A-Rack Folding Ladder Rack # DZ951600 uses clamps for installation on the inside of your truck side rails so you're able to use it, but you won't be able to use a tonneau cover with this rack.

With that said, I do have a solution that would allow you to use a ladder rack and tonneau cover together on your 2006 Toyota Tundra with Double Cab. You would want to start with the Thule TracRac SR # TH43002XT-505, which is a sliding ladder rack that can be adjusted along the truck's side rails depending on the load you're carrying. For a tonneau cover that will work with this rack, I recommend using the Pace Edwards Jackrabbit Retractable Hard Tonneau Cover # 311-JRT1748 since it will retract and cover the truck bed without being impeded by the ladder rack.

I have linked some helpful videos on a few of these items for you to have a look at.
