Do I Need To Insulate ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad 277-000164
Question:
Would it be appropriate to apply Refletics bubble wrap insulation over the tank heater? Probably tape the edges with Eterna bond waterproof tape?

I have contacted Lasalle Bristol about this and the ThermaHeat RV Holding Tank or Step Heater Pad part # 277-000164 has a built in thermostat that turns the heater off at 67 degrees F. I do not recommend insulating the pad because it could cause it to overheat and not operate as it should.
It is not necessary to tape the edges with waterproof tape because the back of the pad has adhesive on it that sticks really well according to our customers as long as you clean the area with an alcohol wipe before installing it.
