A popular harness option that provides both a 4-way and replacement 7-way for your factory tow package 2003 Ford Explorer is also from Curt. The Curt T-Connector Vehicle Wiring Harness for Factory Tow Package - 7-Way and 4-Pole Flat Connector # C55774 plugs right into your factory tow package connector so installation is simple without cutting and splicing required.
If you want to upgrade the mounting bracket, # 18136 is available to keep the wiring neat and orderly. To help with reliability, consistent use of the covers and dielectric grease # 11755 on your connector will help keep dirt and corrosion from impairing the connection.
