Trailer Lights Only Work With Headlights On

My trailer lights only work when headlights are on. The trailer is a landscaping. Truck 2003 Chevy Silverado. Why lights dont work?

If your trailer lights only work when the headlights are on, the issue is likely related to the running light circuit of your trailer wiring. Often an intermittent connection results due to corrosion on the trailer wiring connectors and cleaning them will take care of the problem.
Another consideration is a weak ground on your trailer wiring. An insufficient ground can sometimes cause erratic trailer light functions. You would want to improve the connection of the main ground wire on your trailer wiring or even run a ground wire from each assembly to the ground of the connector as potential solutions..
