Recommended Diamond Pattern Tire Chains For 265/70r17 Tires on Ford F-150
Question:
Do any chain manufacturers make a cross link chain with the diamond pattern style inside cable? The inside clearance is an issue for most newer pickups but the cable connection would fix that issue

I have a solution that gets fairly close to the style that you're referring to, but there is not currently a tire chain design that is going to have the diamond pattern running between the ladder style cross chains.
For vehicles with limited clearance in the wheel wells, your best bet is going to be using a Class S compatible snow chain. For a Class S compatible snow chain that also has a diamond pattern (which provides lateral and horizontal chain orientation like you've mentioned) I recommend using the Pewag Servo RS Self-Tensioning Snow Chains # PWRSV82. These chains are easy to install and quick to disconnect for maximum convenience, and the diamond chain pattern provides great traction and a smooth ride on all types of snow and ice.
If you're looking for a more economical set of chains, the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains # TC2326 are a good choice. These are also diamond pattern chains that are Class S compatible; the main difference between these and other comparable chains are that they don't come with a tensioner included. They would be a good choice if you're just keeping them handy for emergency use or to be legal when traveling in areas where chain laws are frequently put into effect.
