Comparing 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Installation Kits for a 2011 Chevy Silverado 2500HD Long Bed

Question:

I want to use a 30119 hitch in my 2011 Silverado 2500HD with 8foot bed. Do I have a choice of 50066-58 or 56001-53? Is the difference in installation significant? What is the length of the rails on the 50066-58?

With the Pro Series 5th wheel hitch, # PS30119, you I recommend the custom installation kit # RP56001-53. The installation is easier than with kit # RP50066-58, though either kit will fit your truck and hitch. Installation is easier because the longer rails allow the below bed brackets to be installed on the outside of the frame rails where they are easier to reach. The rails in kit # RP50066-58 are approximately 44 inches long.
