Expert Reply:
You should use 2-wheel drive for normal towing conditions. In extreme weather conditions like snow covered or muddy roads that would normally require 4 wheel drive. That said, the 2019 Kia Soul owner's manual says the following regarding towing in Section 6, page 114:
"Towing capacity: We do not recommend using this vehicle for trailer towing."
