Pop & Lock for 2017 Honda Ridgeline with Manual Locking Tailgate

Question:

I just got a 2017 Ridgeline with a factory manual lock on the tailgate. Will this Pop and Lock work in this situation or is there something in the way that would prevent it from working? I have not opened the tailgate yet to see the locking mechanism and how the factory manual lock works. I would prefer to have the automatic lock instead of using a key. If it wont work with the lock can I just remove the inner manual factory lock parts and just use this Pop and Lock. Also, do you ship to Canada?

The Pop & Lock Custom Tailgate Handle that you want to use is the Kit # PAL8600 for your 2017 Honda Ridgeline. This connects to your OEM locking mechanism so that your tailgate locks with power while still retaining the OEM lock so you don't have to carry any extra keys.

Because of this, you won't have to remove your manual lock. This simply adds onto it so that it operates with your electric locks.
