How to Mount the UWS A-Frame Trailer Toolbox on a Trailer?

Question:

It looks like some kind of installation hardware is not included with the box and is not in the related hardware. What installation hardware is recommended for a good solid install?

These toolboxes do not contain mounting hardware due to the different construction and mounting locations that may be required for many different styles of trailers. A lot of how you install the UWS A-Frame Trailer Toolbox # UWS01065 depends on where on the trailer tongue you'll be mounting this, but you'll at least need a few inches in front of the wall of the cargo enclosure to allow for the opening of the box.

I would recommend using a properly sized drill bit to drill 4 mounting holes in the proper locations on your trailer frame. Keep the holes as far to the front, back and sides of the box as possible for the most secure connection. Then use bolts, washers and nylon lock nuts to secure the box to the frame. You could also use, properly sized, self tapping screws with washers and secure the box to the trailer frame in this fashion. Bolts, 3/8 inch size, should be sufficient to secure the box.

You could also weld some L shaped rails the width of the trailer frame, spaced 18" apart, and mount the toolbox to these brackets instead of the trailer frame. I've linked a photo of how one of our customers did this that might be a good guide to use if you wanted to go that route.
