After you install the base plates, # 341-1, on your 2008 Nissan Titan, you will need a tow bar compatible with XL style base plates. The most economical tow bar available that will fit XL base plates is the Roadmaster Tracker, # RM-020. However, this tow bar is rated for 5,000 pounds and your Titan can easily exceed this weight limit.
I recommend going up to the next level, a 6,000 pound capacity tow bar, # RM-501. I have included some informational links on this tow bar for you to view.
And, if the weight of the truck when ready to tow exceeds 6,000 pounds, go with a 10,000 pound model, # RM-422.
You will also need safety cables like # RM-653 (rated for 10,000 pounds). Next, you will need a lighting solution for the truck. If you do not plan on towing it frequently, use a magnetic kit like # RM-2120. If you will be towing it frequently a more permanent solution is recommended.
You can install a diode system like # RM-154. To use this system, if your truck has separate brake and turn signals, you will also need a brake light relay # RM-88400. The product page for the RM-154 kit has all of the wiring diagrams needed below the description.
Most states now require a supplemental braking system on the vehicle being flat towed. The easiest system to set up and use is the Even Brake # RM-9400. This is a proportional system that applies the vehicle brakes in proportion to how much the towing vehicle is braking. Proportional systems are the safest way to stop and they reduce wear and tear on both vehicles.
I have included a link to our series of FAQ articles on flat towing for you. You will want to consult the vehicle owners manual to determine if you can flat tow this vehicle and on the proper procedure for flat towing.
