You will need a 4-pole flat, 7-Way plug and brake controller to activate the electric brakes in the 2019 Starcraft Comet Mini 18MK. I recommend to use the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness with 4-Pole Flat Trailer Connector part # TE54FR, the 7-Way plug upgrade kit part # ETBC7L and the Curt Echo Brake Controller part # C51180. This is the easiest way to install a brake controller on the Escape.
The part # ETBC7L was designed specifically to install the Curt Echo. This will give you a 7-Way on the back of the Escape to plug the Starcraft Comet into. The only connections that need to be made with the 7-Way plug is the black 12V power and a solid ground connection to the vehicle's frame to use the Curt Echo.
The 4-Pole flat # TE54FR will plug into the pigtail coming off of the 7-Way plug. The Curt Echo only requires 12V power to activate the trailer brakes because of it's internal sensors. The brake setting can be controlled via smart phone Apple IOS 8.0-newer or Android with an operating system 4.4 or newer. I have attached a couple of videos for your reference.
