Recommended Spare for Dexstar 17-231 15 Wheels on Trailer

Question:

I have a utility trailer w/Dexstar wheels 17-231 15X5JJ on it and the bonehead who owned it before me didnt have enough sense to have a spare tire, so I need one. Will this combo be acceptable for this? Thanks!

As long as your existing wheels feature a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern (I have attached a great article further down the page if you are unsure of this) and they're fitted with ST205/75R15 size tires, the Kenda Karrier # AM32395 that you referenced will work well as a spare for your trailer. The Dexstar 17-231 model number refers to a number of different 15" wheels from Dexstar which can have different bolt patterns is why I can't really give a sure answer.

Another good option would be the Taskmaster # MX97FR, which seems to a better match to the silver mod wheel you currently have in terms of appearance. It features a 15 inch wheel that's 5 inches wide and the same capacity of 2,150-lb max load at 65 psi.

I have attached a couple of short video reviews on these tire and wheel combos below that you can also check out
