To keep the batteries topped off while in transit, I recommend to use the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger - Dual Input part # 331-BCDC1225D in the tow vehicle and charge the trailer batteries through the 7-Way 12V circuit. The Redarc charger will use the vehicle's alternator to fully charge the batteries while in transit. While you are sitting still you can hook a solar panel to the charger to maintain the charge while your trailer is parked.
The Redarc chargers feature built-in isolation technology that does not require the use of an additional battery isolator solenoid that you mention. The integrated isolation technology will prevent you from draining the tow vehicle's starting
battery with sitting still. However you will need a fuse kit to protect the setup from short circuiting with part # 331-FK40. I have attached a diagram that shows how to wire the fuse kit and the charger depending on which type of batteries you have.
If you do not like the solar panel option when the trailer is parked the only other option is to use an AC power charger like part # CTEK56353 that plugs into a wall outlet.
