Recommended Pet Life Preserver Jacket For Beagle That Weighs 42 Lbs

My beagle Barry is 42 lbs and I want to get him a life jacket for Christmas so he can swim with us in the lake this summer. He is not fond of the water which is strange because our old beagle Fluffy (that sadly passed away) loved to swim. This medium sized jacket says 20 - 40 lbs and girth of 22 to 29. He measures 26 in girth but he is 42 lbs according to my bathroom scale which may or may not be accurate considering it weighed me 5 lbs heavier last week but it is the holiday season and I eat a lot of cookies. Do you think he can use this jacket??

It sounds like he may or may not be 2 lbs over the weight range however it won't be an issue.
