How To Choose the Best Size Screw for the Wall Mounting Bracket for Flat Panel TVs

Question:

Hi, I am trying replace the static TV mount on the wall of our RV with an articulating one. I read a couple of reviews saying that the 2inch screws included in this kit are too long. Can you tell me how thick the walls in the RV actually are? What would you suggest for a suitable replacement? One guy said he used decking screws...but thats not what I would do! I believe the supports in the RV are made of aluminum. Thanks!

The installation of the Wall Mounting Bracket for Flat Panel TVs part # MAF50 is going to vary greatly for each application. The included screws work for most but in regards to your specific application there would be little advice I could give without seeing the trailer first hand. I am also not aware of a standard wall thickness. The best size screw for you will be the one that securely holds the bracket to the wall and through the stud without going through the exterior. I suggest taking a trip to the hardware store, grabbing a couple size screws and then trying each to see which works best.
