Dual Receiver Needed for Carrying Motorcycle While Dolly Towing Behind Motorhome

Question:

2016 Holiday Rambler Ambassador 38ft diesel pusher, 5000lb tow capacity, 500lb tongue from a Class lll receiver. Have attached a Curt Dual hitch extender to pull Master Tow dolly with 2015 Honda Civic Sean, and a bicycle rack on the upper receiver of the Curt. Wish to remove the bike rack and attach a 500lb motorcycle carrier in its place, but understand the dual extender cuts tongue weight in half. Except for the diminished dual hitch tongue reduction, am within the specs of the coach. What can I do to accomplish the above while not reducing tongue weight. Thank you.

The only product I know of that will accomplish what you are asking is a Gen-Y Hitch like part # 325-GH-514 which offers a 7-1/2" drop/rise. The Gen-Y Hitches use a unique stacked receiver design which they say doesn't reduce the tongue weight rating of your trailer hitch at all. The 7-1/2" difference should be enough to allow you to dolly tow your Honda Civic and use a motorcycle carrier like part # UF48-979033.

Just be sure to subtract the weight of the Gen-Y Hitch (37 lbs) and the carrier (50 lbs) from your 500 lb tongue weight on your motorhome and remain under that reduced capacity with the weight of your motorcycle and any tongue weight that your tow dolly is putting on your hitch.

Attached are some review videos for you to check out.
