Roof Cargo Box that Can Fit 2018 Mazda 3 Hatchback with OEM Whispbar Crossbars

Question:

Hi, I have a cascade XT box trying to fit to the 2018 Mazda 3 hatchback with OEM Whispbar crossbars. The u-bolts provided with the Cascade XT are to short to fit over the aeroblades since they are roughly 3.5inch wide. Is there an adapter kit/different u-bolt to allow the car and rack to work together?

Besides extensive modification to your Thule Cascade which we can't safely recommend there really isn't a way you'll be able to mount it on your wider crossbars. Aero shaped bars weren't as popular back when the Cascade was made which is why yours doesn't fit on your Whispbar bars. So if you ever were looking for an excuse to upgrade your roof cargo box now would be the time. We have the Thule Pulse part # TH614 which would be a really great option. It will fit your bars easily and can carry up to 14 cubic feet of cargo space. I attached a review video for this for you to check out as well.
