Parts Needed to Flat Tow 2020 Chevy Colorado
Question:
Hi all! I have a new 2020 Chevy Colorado and plan on bringing it with us on our trips via tow bar, etc on the RV. Can you tell me/recommend what parts I will need to accomplish this. Thank you so much for your help.

We can definitely get your new 2020 Chevy Colorado set up so you can flat tow it behind your RV. To do this you will need a base plate kit, a tow bar, safety cables, a lighting solution, and a supplemental braking system. I will list out the parts I recommend below and then go into a bit more detail on each.
Base Plate Kit - Roadmaster Direct-Connect # RM-523182-5
Tow Bar - Roadmaster Nighthawk All Terrain # RM-676 (safety cables are included)
Lighting Solution - Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Kit # RM-152
Supplemental Braking System - Brake Buddy Classic 3 # HM39494
The Direct-Connect Base Plate Kit uses hidden brackets that allow for a clean appearance on the truck and eliminates the need for a separate crossbar when hooking up to a tow bar like the Nighthawk All Terrain. This is an excellent tow bar that features integrated LEDs for better visibility and a non-binding design that lets you easily release the vehicle, even on unlevel ground. The Hy-Power Diode Kit will work perfectly with the wiring already included with the Nighthawk to power the Colorado's signal lights during travel and the Brake Buddy Braking System offers excellent performance with convenient portability.
Lastly you may need a high-low adapter to keep the tow bar within the "Safety Zone" (3" above or below level). I have included a great article that explains how to choose the best one for your setup, along with a link that will take you to our available selection.
I have also attached a video demonstrations on the products mentioned that you can check out as well.
