Recommended Platform Style Rack for Carrying 4 Bikes With Toyota Sienna
Question:
Can this Swagman S64FR carry fat tire bikes?
asked by: Allison
Expert Reply:
Fat bike tires are generally greater than 3-1/2 inches in width, while the # S64FR Swagman Quad you're asking about can handle tires up to 3 inches wide so the Quad wouldn't work well for your needs. No worries, though. We have the perfect bike rack that'll work just fine for you.
I can highly recommend the # HR1400Z-FB SportRider SE. The rack can handle 4 fat bikes weighing up to 50 lbs apiece, which is an excellent capacity. Hollywood Racks makes an extremely durable bike rack, and they do an excellent job standing behind their product.
The rack has several great features:
-Half the rack can be easily removed if you're only wanting to carry two bikes
-Rack will also work well with regular bikes
-The rack can be tilted back away from vehicle for easy access to cargo area
-Rack can be folded up against rear of vehicle with bikes removed for easy storage
-A Hitch and cable lock included to help deter theft
-The platform portion of the rack us offset upward by 7 inches for greater ground clearance
All these features at a slightly lower price point than the Swagman Quad you'd asked about.
