Tarp for Covering Porch in Winter
Question:
I’ve been researching options for covering my porch in winter until I can find a better solution for safer walking and a tarp was suggested. What do you think of this idea?

As long as you are talking about putting the tarp above you, like from the top of your doorway to the porch railing (and not on the ground) I don't see any reason why a tarp like the Erickson Heavy-Duty Silver Tarp, 14 x 14 Weave - 8' x 10' # EM57021 wouldn't work just fine to keep your porch covered.
You'd have to come up with some type of creative solution for mounting it from your home to the porch railing (at an angle above the door so you can walk out) but it's certainly something that is doable and can work. I've added a link to our entire selection of tarps in case the 8' x 10' is not the right size and you need another one.
