Can 25 Amp Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger Pull Power from 12V on 7-Way Connector
Question:
I understand about the auxiliary pin on the 7 way connector. If I mount the BCDC1225D charger in my truck camper will the power from the 7 way plug be enough to power the charger? The auxiliary power from my trucks 2015 Chevy Silverado 7 way connector is fused with a 30 amp fuse.

Helpful Expert Reply:
Since the 7-Way connectors on vehicles, like your 2015 Chevy Silverado, have smaller 10 gauge wire it is recommended to route separate wiring (6 - 8 AWG based on the length of wire) so that enough power gets to the Redarc In-Vehicle BCDC Battery Charger # 331-BCDC1225D. It is also recommended to use the 40-Amp MIDI Fuse Kit # 331-FK40 for this charger because these fuses are isolated and better protected in the black compartments.
Attached are the installation instructions and some example videos for you to check out.
