Drill or Clamp Fan-Tastic Roof Vent for RV and Tip for Cutting Garnish to Length

Question:

I am considering the Fan-Tastic fan vent with the clamp on garnish for the bathroom of my camper. I currently have one in the kitchen area that works well and does not seem to collect any condensation inside as does the current metal ventline model in the bathroom. 1. Do you recommend the clamp on model over the models that screw in to the roof? 2. What do you use to cut a few inches off the garnish to a roof that is only about 1 and 3/4 inches thick? Thank you

I like the more permanent drill application Fan-Tastic roof vents like the # FV801350 you referenced as they are easier to keep sealed. For an install kit the # 344270KITW would work well. This comes with the needed screws and all of the sealant you'd need.

To trim the garnish I would recommend using masking tape to mark where you want it cut and then use a fine tooth saw to make the cut. Since it's plastic it will cut very easily.
