Will this charger charge 6volt generator batteries

If the 6 volt generator batteries are wired in series which doubles the output voltage to 12 volts then yes the # PTW2997 can be used with it. If the output voltage is only 6 volts then this would not work well since the voltage would be too high.
Most likely this will work as I'd be surprised if your generator had a 6 volt battery/starter circuit. You'd connect this to the battery bank like the in series wiring of the generator battery.
