Shock Kit Recommendation for 2014 Jayco Whitehawk MRB20 with 3,000 lb Axles

Question:

I have a 2014 Whitehawk MRB20 with tandem axles. Do you offer a shock absorber kit for this trailer? additional info I just accumulated, having read the installation instructions on your Lippert kit 281281 ? Overslung, 3” Dexter 3000lb. axle, 5” between tire and frame (flange faces inward on this “C” beam frame) Tandem axles with equalizer that rests perfectly horizontal when trailer is level front-to-back. Is this going to be the proper kit?

While we do have a shock kit that fits your 2014 Whitehawk MRB20 with tandem axles the Lippert kit you mentioned is not the correct fit as it's for higher rated axles that have a larger diameter. Instead you'd want the Roadmaster Comfort Ride kit part # RM-2450 which was designed for tandem axle trailers like yours that have 2-3/8 inch diameter axles.

Our customers who have installed this kit have reported to us that it does an excellent job improving the ride quality of the trailer and even helps prevent some sway as well.

Your 2020 Apex 279rlss has a gross vehicle weight rating of 7600 lb so your axles will likely be 3,500 lbs each based on the 620 lb tongue weight. If that is accurate or even if they are 4,200 lb axles then the diameter of your axles will each be 2-3/8 inches. So you will use either the Lippert Components Bolt-On Shock Kit w/ Heavy Duty Gas Shocks - 3,500-lb (2-3/8") Axle # LC281255 or the Roadmaster Comfort Ride Shock Absorbers for Tandem Axle Trailers - 3,500-lb Axle # RM-2450 for your shocks.
